After working with organizations for many years, I have seen the same pattern again and again. Many organizations choose the right performance management method on paper. But after 6 to 12 months, they stop using it or give up. The reason is not the method. The real reason is the lack of software that can automatically align goals, cascade objectives, and track progress. Over the years, I have seen this happen in many organizations. The method is not the problem. Execution is.There are many good approaches, such as:
• Balanced Scorecard (BSC)
- KPI-Based Performance Management
- OKRs
- Management by Objectives (MBO)
- General Goal SettingEach one can work well. The important question is:Which one is the right fit for your organization?
In this series, I will explain each method in simple words, share real examples, and help you understand when to use each one. Because choosing the right method is only the first step. Making it work is what really matters. Have you ever introduced a performance management system that looked great at first but slowly disappeared? I’d love to hear your experience.
